    To run the Gold Coast Marathon in July. I don’t care how long it takes me, i just want to cover the distance and feel the joy of crossing the finish line. I also want to have a goal to set my mind to, and stay on track to reap the rewards of months of training.

    To complete my second half-marathon at the Australian Outback Marathon at Yulara. With a faster time than my first attempt at Melbourne Marathon! Training in the desert is so different to city training!

    Nice work Physo29 – I ran the Outback half last year and it was a tough run. If you can go faster in those conditions with those sand dunes and twists and turns as opposed to Melbourne Half you will be doing very well! Best of luck with the training. TR

    Short term goal for me is the Christmas Fanatics Half Marathon!. It’s a casual un-timed run on Christmas day here in Adelaide.
    I have run marathons around 30 years ago and my last half marathon would be over 20 years ago.
    My challenge is to run it barefoot. I’m pretty sure I can do it as I regularly run 25km without shoes but this will be the first time running in a race, even though it is casual.
    I could run a a half in 1:24 but I’ve slowed down a bit since then.
