National tour – finishedThank you to all applicants who had the courage, commitment and drive to try-out for the IMP squad! The tour has now finished and the extremely difficult task of selecting a squad of just 12 from nearly 200 applications is in the hands of IMP head coach, Adrian Dodson-Shaw.
The full squad will be announced mid-April and we are so excited to introduce these inspirational Indigenous Australians to the country, ready to take on the world’s most famous marathon!

National tour gets underwayThe IMP is about to hit the road, ready to scour the country for the next squad of 12 inspirational Indigenous Australians who will change their life and inspiration a nation along the way.
The tour kicks off in Canberra on Wednesday 1 February, 6pm at Reconciliation Place, before heading to Bodalla, Nowra, Melbourne, Geelong and Newcastle, before touring the rest of Australia.
Applications will be taken on the day of the try-outs, so if you haven’t yet applied, it’s not too late!

In six months, you will follow in the footsteps of your 65 IMP Graduate brothers and sisters, run in the world’s largest marathon, and complete a Certificate III in Fitness providing ongoing career pathways and opportunities.
The national try-out tour will commence in February 2017 and locations will be determined by online applications received (locations will be available shortly after all online applications have been processed. All applicants will be notified of try out locations and available through the IMF website).
Please note that it is the responsibility of each applicant to attend the nearest location on the date and time specified in the schedule. Please note that the try-out locations will be determined by the applications received by the closing date.
Applicants are welcome to apply on the day of the try-out but must make their way to the nearest try-out location.
The squad will be announced early April 2017.
NO running experience required, but you must have DETERMINATION, COMMITMENT and want to MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. What can I do now to prepare for the trials?
To help you prepare for the trial, we recommend a 20 minute easy run three to four times per week
One of the most critical parts of the application process is the one-on-one interview.
2. Do I need to have any running experience to apply?
Absolutely not. The majority of our Graduates had no prior running experience before they applied.
3. I’m older than 30. Can I still apply?
Applications are open to Indigenous Australians aged 18-30. We do not accept applications from anyone over the age of 30.
4. What are the dates of the trials?
Trials will commence late February and throughout March. All applicants will be contacted as soon as dates are set.
5. What are the costs if I am selected in the squad?
IMF covers all travel, accommodation, education and associated camp costs throughout the year. Any personal purchases made during camps are at the expense of the runner.
6. What are the costs of trials?
All costs associated with attending trials are at the expense of the applicant.
7. When are the camps throughout the year?
Four camps are held throughout the year. Camp locations are in Canberra (May 2017 (dates TBC)), Gold Coast (July 2017), Sydney (August 2016), and Alice Springs (September 2017).
New York camp will be 1st-10th November 2016.
These camps are compulsory. Team members need to make sure they can take leave from work/family etc to attend camps.
